Our Work

How The Vine Foundation works with local communities

Mission And Outreach Services

The Vine Foundation is anchored on the belief that we are called to engage in God’s mission to reach and serve the world. This is an essential component and the foundation on which our work finds its basis.

As given out in the book of Mathew 28:18-20 (The great Commission), we strive to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations and people. James 1:27 requires us to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

We achieve this through evangelism, support to churches and building capacity of the leadership of churches.

Climate Change And Food Security

In remote areas in many parts of the world, smallholder farmers lack the choices or implementation capacity to consistently produce enough food to feed their families as they live in extreme poverty.

The effects of climate change have led to poor food production due to emergence of pests that destroy crops. The rainfall patterns are no longer predictable coupled with the antiquated agricultural practices that have poor yields, resulting in low income for small holder farmers.

The Vine Foundation supports community groups through training and provision of extension services, provision of seedlings to farmers to enhance forest coverage, enhance better and modern agricultural practices while confronting the challenges of living in an episodic hunger community.
Environmental conservation is also enhanced by adoption of methods and practices that are friendly.

Education

Education is a tool for societal transformation. At Vine Foundation, we focus on supporting children from poor/vulnerable backgrounds to access quality education.
This is made possible through community integration of life skills training, art and creativity. To achieve these, we partner with schools, libraries, and community organizations as well as the government.

The Vine Foundation also provides Primary education at the school while also linking needy bright children with sponsorship opportunities in higher learning institutions.

Health And Hygiene Promotion

To have a more productive society, people must have access to good health and hygiene practices. We seek to understand what people need, in order to be healthy and to generate the evidence needed to address their health challenges.
Good health provides the foundation for community and economic development.

The foundation is actively involved in communities’ sensitization and provision of mobile medical outreach services to the rural and slum populations.
Through our partners, we have been supporting health facilities with medical equipment, drugs and other medical supplies.

Youth and Women Program

In most developing countries, women and young people form the bulk of the population, accounting to more than two-thirds of the people. But most of them are limited in terms of access to capital as well as means earning income.

The Vine Foundation identifies this category as the most underutilized resource, hence the need to prioritize them in program design.
Our programmes are inclusive, gender-sensitive and with focus on the most vulnerable groups ensuring they have equal access and participation in social-economic activities.

The Vine foundation is actively involved in supporting sporting activities for edutainment for the youth, skills training for the youth and women and linking them to the market for their produce.
